The 3d International Defence Exhibition IDELF-2008 will be held on August 20 - 24, 2008 in Russia on the territory of Moscow and Moscow Region.
Organizer of the Exhibition - Federal Service for Military- Technical Cooperation.
Goals and Tasks of the Exhibition:
- to present opportunities for demonstration of up to date military and defence equipment, military oriented technologies, scientific and technical, industrial and technological capabilities of the military industrial complex enterprises;
- to assist in establishing business contacts and development of cooperation between military industrial complex enterprises;
- to improve scientific, technical and experimental basis of the military and industrial complex enterprises;
- to create the most favorable conditions for business communications of the developers and manufacturers, suppliers and consumers of up to date armaments and military equipment;
- an exchange of experience in the field of training of highly qualified military and technical staff and young specialists;

Format of the Exhibition:
The main exposition will be displayed on the territory of the All-Russia Exhibition Center V.V.C. (the total area of the V.V.C. is 238 hectares).
Demonstration and business program of the IDELF-2008 will be held within the best facilities, pavilions and conference halls of the V.V.C. At the disposal of participants and visitors of the exhibition are specially equipped and decorated in the common renovated style outdoor grounds along the whole length of the All-Russia Exhibition Centre Central Alley from the historic arch of the Main Entrance till the Cosmos Pavilion. The total area of the IDELF Exhibition ground will exceed more than 100 000 sq. m.
Tactical, technical and performance characteristics of various armaments and technical military equipment will be demonstrated on the testing and firing ranges of Moscow Region. For this purpose will be used forces and facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defence and of Internal Troops of the Russian Ministry of the Interior.
As expected the exhibition in which over 600 of exhibitors out of 15 states will take part will be attended by more then 400 000 of visitors.
In the work of the Exhibition including the official opening ceremony will take part the Heads of the Russian Federation, leading specialists of the Ministry of Defence, of the Russian Defence Order, of the Russian Industry and of the other federal executive power bodies.
It is necessary especially to mark international program of the Exhibition. It is expected that the exhibition will be visited by the official delegations from Austria, Belarus, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Italy, People’s Republic of China, Slovakia and Switzerland, Poland, USA, Turkey, India, South Korea, South African Republic, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, India, China, Malaysia, UAE, Jordan, Venezuela, Uganda, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Algeria, Libya, Angola, Guinea, Congo, Finland, Macedonia, Syria, Bangladesh, Poland, Korean People’s Democratic Republic, Yemen, Greece, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Vietnam, Mongolia, Iran, Sri Lanka, Bulgaria, Cuba, Cyprus, Nigeria, Armenia, Senegal, Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kirgizia, Estonia, USA, Canada, EU members states, etc.
A characteristic feature of the IDELF 2008 is that the exhibition is held as a large scale integrated event of the Russian military industrial complex.

Russia's Space Forces will not give up using the Gabala radar in Azerbaijan, the forces' spokesman said, commenting on media reports that Russia could soon abandon the site. "The activity of the Space Forces is aimed at all radars eventually being on Russian territory. But we do not intend to give up the agreement on the use of the Gabala ahead of time," Alexei Zolotukhin said.
