President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin plans to visit International Defence Exhibition of Land Forces IDELF 2006. Besides the exhibition will be attended by the Russian First Vice-Premier – Minister of Defence Sergey Ivanov, heads of the MoD main directorates and departments, including those responsible for material and equipment procurement. On August 4 it is expected that Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov will visit the IDELF 2006.

Russia Will Use Gabala Radar - Space Forces Representative

Russia's Space Forces will not give up using the Gabala radar in Azerbaijan, the forces' spokesman said, commenting on media reports that Russia could soon abandon the site. "The activity of the Space Forces is aimed at all radars eventually being on Russian territory. But we do not intend to give up the agreement on the use of the Gabala ahead of time," Alexei Zolotukhin said.
